to a credit card from the Flooz.com site. Flooz then e-mails the recipient, informing him or her of the gift. The recipient gets a list of sites that will redeem Flooz for gifts, and Flooz gets a cut of the final transaction.
"We're not looking for a way to be the Web's currency," Levitan says. "We're looking to be the best way to give or receive a gift."
The new arrangement between Beenz and Flooz, which will go live Wednesday, will allow consumers to buy Flooz with beenz. There are no plans to reverse the deal; people still can't buy beenz with Flooz.
