John McCain’s list of potential vice-presidential candidates will include at least two representatives of high tech business, former HP Chair Carly Fiorina and former eBay CEO Meg Whitman. Fiorina has been named by McCain as the chair of the Republican National Committee-McCain Victory 2008 Campaign. She has become a leading spokeswoman and surrogate for McCain on the economy, a great way to trial-balloon her as a potential candidate who could shore up McCain on his weak flank, and she would not have been given such a high profile role if McCain didn’t want to showcase her support. Fiorina is also a long-time McCain ally with strong management credentials who could easily be seen by others, and trusted by McCain, as a potential COO in a McCain administration. Whitman has been named a national co-chair of McCain’s campaign, after having been a leading supporter of Mitt Romney. She had great success in business and is more recently clearly eyeing a political career, but doesn’t have the same relationship to McCain as a Romney loyalist.

Would this be publicized, though?
"Will consider" is too difficult to judge.
