The formula is not mathmatics, its sensory beyond an incoming tsunami. Realize that solving this is the similar to the animals that see things before we or our technology give any indication. Math only calculates dated information. All these formulas: old data. Who will own this on everything? Enhanced Sensory to predict sooner. Health to people to nature. All the same. "Have an idea for a Prediction that you think should be added to The Standard?" This is the basis behind this site. The top money people on this site have extrasensory tools or early detection sensors. Is insider information and a tsunami the same? Interesting? My prediction is that real vision is a tool that exisits in a rare few today or tomorrow. The ones that predict without these tools have access to early information and have a way of using this early data. A prime example of vision: Is the banker or insight that told Henry Kravitz to buy RJR Nabisco the earlist form of prediction, in this scenario of course. Or is it the tsunami who bought it the day before the buyout. See that sooner predicitions exist and thos that do predict have special tools. Find the ones that exist at the creation of the event. Thats where prediction occurs. Could go deeper but stop here for now..... since it does go even deeper but not in the vocabulary of most.

So, is your prediction that an earthquake will hit Java by 3/12/2008? Not sure it is relevant to this prediction market (and is a tad scary) but is interesting nonetheless. How would you define "powerful"?
I was an industry player, then an industry fan boy and now I am an INDUSTRY WANNABE all adjectives given by the people who run this site. I would challenge my adjective giver anytime, anyplace to to show the ole wise one just how unwise he/she really is. I have have started many companies and have been in forefront of this industry for over 20 years now having started SAVVIS communications in 1995, a company that employs today for 5000 people worldwide, and thats just one of my companies. So if that an industry wannabe then I wannabe nowhere around this site as I am behind the scenes of many forward thinking companies today, still in the trenches, This site is ran and biased by its employess and really serves no purpose for anything future or meaningful. Predicition is how I stated it .
The prediction I made above could be true, the indicators are there. Betting on whether or not Google's stock price is going to be below 500.00 when at the time of the posting it was below was below 500 and its chart is a downward V is not intelligent or meaningful to me. Its predicition at the kindergarten level.

Rankings are fluctuating right now as the market gains more liquidity. They'll settle down. That being said, they are determined by the market via your prediction activity intersected with accuracy, which has an impact on networth, intersected with how diverse your portfolio is. In the algorithm, each variable has different weights assigned to it. It has nothing to do with you as a successful businessman and entrepreneur. it's purely a game. If you want to make some easy money, cash out and dump big wads of cash into something you think is a "sure thing" which is about to close. You won't make as much money as you would if you guessed right at 50%, but it will bring you back up the ladder. Cheers!
I am a technology guy but I am using Tsunami's as a way to show that prediction mechanisms are there and what we see is what one wants us to see.

At 10:25 AM Alaskan Standard Time on March 4, an earthquake with preliminary magnitude 5.4 occurred 20 miles/32 Km northeast of Atka Village, Alaska.
The magnitude is such that a tsunami WILL NOT be generated. This will be the only WCATWC message issued for this event.
The location and magnitude are based on preliminary information. Further information will be issued by the United States Geological Survey or the appropriate regional seismic network.
