The EPOC Emotiv -- currently recruiting beta testers -- is a headset that uses non-invasive electroencephalography to interpret the electrical impulses in the wearer's brain. This interface can then be used to control videogames (or other applications).
The Emotiv also features an onboard motion-sensing gyroscope, wireless connectivity, and the capacity to transfer more than 30 different types of in-game actions, player expressions and emotions. The projected price is currently $299 and it is scheduled to hit retail by the end of the year.
Will the EPOC Emotive be available for retail sale before Christmas 2008?
