Domain Name Market Crash in 2010

With the rise of web platforms (Facebook, MySpace, Force.com..etc) and cross platform applications domain names become as worthless as the naming conventions of folders within an application.

Eventually the URL address bar will be tucked away into a menu option much like the "Run" box on windows, and hence never used by the majority of users.

URI's will however have a much cleaner design and allow for the technically inclined user to directly request information/resources via domain composition. This standard URI api SURI (although it shares the name sake of the than president of Scientology "SURI") will make dynamic and automatic content mash-ups a trivial task.

Examples:
www.a.com/info/requires/platform ... facebook...myspace...
www.c9ajdgsdgalds.com/info/owner/contact .... name...email...phone

A positive side effective of this crash will be the complete liquidation of domain typo owners and other domain squatting scum that made the web a less pleasant and safe environment from 2000 to 2010.
