Just like a horse race, if you bet in favor or against you get both of these new media companies. Both seem to have grown very fast and are reaching a point where the right large media guidance might take the brand mainstream. It could be television, radio, print or some other direction, but the prediction is simple:
Techcrunch or Gawker get acquired by June 2010.
By that time the recession will be in a good place to be judged and an acquisition spree might be ripe. Or it might be that one or both of these companies struggle to see the ad dollars they once did and are required to sell to get out from massive debt. Or as their owners/investors hope someone comes along with a big wad of cash just itching to get a new media jewel/darling and pays a large fortune.
Weblogs, inc has long been an AOL property, why shouldn't someone come along for one or both of these two.
