Judgment on August 27, 2008: IE 8 Beta 2 is now available. Judged at 100%.
-- The Industry Standard
Microsoft and timetables haven't always been the best pairing in the world.
In an industry where sliding schedules are common, Microsoft is far from the least offender. Bill Gates himself has announced that IE 8 will have a Beta 2 release by the end of August.
This is a prediction that Microsoft will meet or beat that self-assigned deadline and will publicly release IE 8 beta 2 on or before August 31st, 2008.
Betting will close either when the beta is released or on August 27th, whichever occurs first. Judgment will be made on September 1, 2008.

August 28 is the date (see http://news.softpedia.com/news/IE8-Beta-2-Drops-by-August-28-IE8-Final-i... and http://blogs.zdnet.com/microsoft/?p=1543)
To be clear, that says August 28 is the *planned* date (and it always has been planned before the end of August...)
Actually, it was planned for March.. then moved to August. Now there is action on preparing for the release. Care to bet against?
I'm already well into a position against this happening. The odds are just too good given any software company's track record, let alone Microsoft's...
Microsoft has 4 more days. Boy - a lot of people banking on this one. This is getting interesting. I believe this is the place to watch to see if it updates in time.
It's out.
