Well, gotta hand it to the community; the consensus in the blogosphere seemed to be that Icahn wouldn't be able to pull it together in time, but as the WSJ reports the activist investor is going to have a go at it. --The Industry Standard
As Kara puts it so perfectly: "If Yahoo CEO Jerry Yang thought Microsoft CEO Steve Ballmer was scary, meet persnickety investor Carl Icahn."
If so, as several people have pointed out, Carl better hop to it -- he has until Thursday to get on the slate for Yahoo's July board meeting.
This is a prediction that Carl Ichan will officially begin a proxy battle for control of Yahoo's board. This will be defined as nominating an alerternate slate for the board of directors.
If you want to read up on what a proxy fight might look like, read this post by Marc Andreessen and substitute "Icahn" in anywhere you see "Microsoft". Hehe -- no rest for the weary;)
