Judgment on November 3, 2008: This did not come true under the allotted timeframe, which the community correctly predicted. --The Industry Standard
Original prediction: Time Warner Inc. has completed the internal work necessary to separate its AOL unit's dial-up-access business from its advertising and content business.
Now it will get serious about plotting the Internet unit's next steps, including whether to sell one or both of the businesses.
The prediction will be judged favorable if either of the following criteria is met:
1) Earthlink makes a formal announcement to acquire AOL dial-up business by Oct 31, 2008
2) Time Warner or Earthlink acknowldges acquisition deal for the AOL dial-up business by Oct 31, 2008
An unfavorable judgement will be made on Nov 1, 2008 if none of the criteria is met by Oct 31, 2008.

@TIS, please rephrase "acquires" to "bids for" the heading to be consistent with judgement criteria
Time is running out on this one. Even though Earthlink showed a profit after massive cuts, this seems dead.
Times up on this one. Prediction failed to come true.
