Judgment made on March 17, 2009: We're still waiting for the official debut of BlackBerry App World. This prediction did not come true, which the community got right. -- The Industry Standard

The long-awaited BlackBerry App store is here. Sort of.  The freshly-dubbed BlackBerry App World is Research In Motion's answer to Apple's App Store for the iPhone and iPod Touch. Open to mobile developers, BB App World lets users sign up for an alert when the site will be live.

RIM has said that the App World store will be up and running sometime in March. Whether it's March 31 or tomorrow is anyone's guess. Start placing those bets.

Prediction: The BlackBerry App World store will be live to users by March 16, 2009.

Am hearing it's close to end of month when App World opens for business.

We'll need an official launch date to judge this correctly. It sounds like the App World store is sort of open, but if you go to the website it still says, "Coming soon."

Initial target for March has been revised to within a month (from today) according to Milanesi, analyst at Gartner. This puts the prediction in a more likely state of being judged unfavorably due to March 16 criteria date.

March 16 has come and gone and Blackberry App World is yet to be live. Judgment time.

Okay March 24th....and still no app world.
There isn't even a mention of when it is coming out. A march debut seems highly unlikely from my perspective now. Lets hope though!

Expectations have been adjusted for April launch.
