Another price cut for XBox 360 by December

After Microsoft announced a close-out deal price cut of a discontinued model of the XBox 360, Sony answered back with a permanent price cut in the PS3.

Will Microsoft be forced into making a similar permanent price reduction for the continuing models of the 360? This prediction will be judged a success if, prior to December 1, 2008, Microsoft announces a new suggested retail price for the 120GB XBox Elite of less than $400 or of the 60GB XBox 360 Pro of less than $300.

This prediction has all the indications of being a favorable one as evidence of this are popping up on the net albeit not fully confirmed until early September.

Someone else got the 1st bet in on this one before me ( my initial bet went over limit and was rejected and as the page cycled, someone snuck the 1st one in :( )

The prediction says "Microsoft will announce..."

These are leaks via unnamed sources. What if the flyer is Photoshopped? I totally believe this, personally, but want your take (and @Bradley's). The prediction required an announcement from Microsoft.

@Eric, this is going to happen for sure (just too many retailer leaks to be otherwise). That said, I do not mind the wait (although it would be nice to free up the $ for more shopping spree).

Those all indicate future prices set by various retailers.

This prediction should (does) require a change in the MSRP.

Now I know that effective the price charged by the retailers in this case is MSRP, but until Microsoft makes the announcement I say this one should stay open. Extraordinarily likely to close in the positive direction in the next week or two, however. Three at the outside if the rumors aren't complete bunk.

@Bradley - totally agree. @David, while this seems to be a foregone conclusion, there has not been an official announcement by Microsoft as of yet (not sure what they are waiting for). You can always Cash Out if you need to free up money, assuming you bought in when the price was lower.

I still have spare $ for bets at this time so I am not in that much of a hurry at this time. Given that the bet closes at end of November, time is on my side on this one. Think I will stay the course for now.
