I'm an attorney and consultant in New Haven with long involvement in technology issues and public service. I have served as Consumer Protection Commissioner of Connecticut, Deputy General Counsel of the U.S. Department of Education, a member of the Policy Development Staff of the Office of President-elect George H.W. Bush, and a member of the President's Committee on Mental Retardation. As Consumer Protection Commissioner in the mid-'90s, I was a leader in putting Connecticut's government services online. Since leaving government in 1999, in addition to practicing law, I have been involved with technology business strategy. I have written or co-authored op-eds and commentary articles that have appeared in publications including The New York Times, The Boston Globe, The Washington Post, and The Hartford Courant, in addition to The Industry Standard. I have also been a guest on broadcast media including the BBC, Dateline NBC, CNN, CourtTV, and FoxNews. I'm a graduate of George Washington University and the Georgetown University Law Center, and an Associate Fellow of Yale's Davenport College.
