Russell 2000 index to drop to 600 by Valentine's Day

The economic and financial volatility will continue to play havoc with small-cap stocks, as scared individual investors retreat to the sidelines and small companies' customers pull back on spending and partnerships.

The Russell 2000 index, which hit 850 last July, is now under 700. It will hit 650 by Valentine's Day 2008, if not sooner.
