According to market analyst company, eMarketer, online social network advertising will ride out potential economic storms in the US. They predict that 2008 social-network advertising will climb to $1.6 billion, up 70 percent from the previous year. However, the economic outlook isn't getting any better. This is a prediction that social networking advertising in 2008 will not exceed $1.5 billion, $100 million less than eMarketer's forecast. Judging will occur using eMarketer's own figures, which should be available sometime in January 2009.
