Delicious founder leaves Yahoo to be "gloriously unemployed"

Joshua Schachter, the founder of bookmarking site and Yahoo-owned del.icio.us, has resigned from the big Y. Schachter told TechCrunch's Michael Arrington that the "recent news coming out" of the company encouraged his decision, and the final decision was made today.

He didn't share any future plans, other than saying he will join the "gloriously unemployed."

Schachter cited frustrations with the process of rolling out the new version of delicious as "playing a part" in his leaving.

He wrote in the comments on TechCrunch, "I was largely sidelined by the decisions of my management. So that was mostly the result rather than the cause, if that makes sense."

Schachter reportedly took $15 million from the $30 million sale of his company to Yahoo in 2005, so he has a bit of a cushion to rest on during his glorious unemployment.
