&lt;p&gt;The next generation of Mac OS X, titled &amp;quot;Snow Leopard&amp;quot; won&#039;t support the company&#039;s PowerPC-based computers, which it stopped selling several years ago. The system requirements were in documentation distributed to developers under an NDA at WWDC this week.&lt;/p&gt;
&lt;p&gt;The shut-out of PowerPC had been rumored for a while and signals the end to a major chapter in Apple history -- namely, the PowerPC generation which traces back more than 10 years to the original Power Macs in the mid 90&#039;s.&lt;/p&gt;
