The service is so <a href="http://www.alleyinsider.com/2008/6/free_att_wifi_swamps_starbucks_servers">popular</a>, the authentication servers that grant access to the network are being swamped. It seems many users are being given &quot;invalid username&quot; errors, even with proper credentials. One blogger <a href="http://www.devpal.com/javamancy/blog/2008/06/03/overwhelming-response-to-starbucks-free-wi-fi-deal/">contacted</a> Starbucks customer service, but didn't get an ETA for a fix.
