Nintendo quiet on list of WiiWare launch games

With less than a week until the downloadable game platform launches next Monday on Wii, Nintendo has yet to divulge what gamers can look forward to.

According to Game|Life, it's looking more and more like Nintendo will only announce a list of launch titles the day of release, on May 12. It would be an anti-climatic debut for sure, but one that's consistent with the low-profile, indie games to be featured on the download service, much like Xbox Live Arcade and the PlayStation Store.

In March, Nintendo launched the WiiWare service in Japan. Though American launch titles will likely vary (here's hoping the lovable Lost Winds makes the cut), notable releases in Japan included Final Fantasy Crystal Chronicles: My Life As a King (US$15), Dr. Mario and Virus Extermination ($10), Star Soldier R ($8), and Ping-Pong ($5).
