Dragon's Den winner Tech 21 has introduced a new range of d3o cases for laptops and mobile devices.

The cases are made using d3o, an intelligent material that locks its molecules together on impact to absorb the energy of a shock. The material is used in protective clothing for sports and the company is adapting it for use by the UK military.

Tech 21 claims that d3o provides between 140 per cent and 221 per cent more protection than any other case on the market.

These are the first new products to launch since Dragon's Peter Jones and Theo Paphitis agreed to fund the company.

The new range includes iPhone shells and soft leather sleeves as well as laptop cases.

The £29.99 (US$50) iBand Impact Hard Case takes the same concept as the iBand case launched by the company earlier this year, but meets the main criticism of that case by protecting the back of the iPhone.

The £24.99 Leather Slip Impact Case is made from leather and finished with a suede interior. It's available in a variety of colours including black, orange and grey. Also at £24.99, the Leather Impact Slim Case is available in two colours, orange and black.

The £24.99 Style Sleeve laptop case is constructed from high grade neoprene and, due to the integrated d3o, offers the ultimate in laptop protection without compromising size, says Tech 21. It comes in 10in, 15.6in or 17in versions.

The £24.99 Impact Wrap is made from Ballistic Nylon, one of the strongest fabrics available today, according to the company. In addition, the protective qualities that the d3o offers negates the need for additional padding that would add extra weight and bulk, says the company. Available in black with a bright orange and in various sizes ranging from 10in to 17in.
