Could the disappointment over the Orange iPhone tariffs announced on Monday be reversed when Vodafone starts offering the iPhone to customers early next year?

For those who signed up for pre-registration information, Vodafone has sent out the following email: "be emailing you some iPhone surprises over the next few weeks. Keep an eye out for our essential iPhone guide, which will be helping you unlock the full potential of your iPhone on the Vodafone network."

Vodafone will become the third UK carrier to offer the iPhone after O2 and Orange, who will start selling the smartphone from next week - Tuesday 10 November. Reports suggest Vodafone should start offering the iPhone from the second week in January, 2010.

According to tech site Electricpig, Vodafone also plans to bring it's Vodafone 360, billed as a suite of innovative, new Internet services to iPhone users, although clearly some services will duplicate those offered by Apple.
