The seventh-annual "Global State of Information Security" survey-a worldwide study by CIO, CSO and PricewaterhouseCoopers-was conducted online from April 20, 2009, through June 23, 2009. CIO and CSO print and online customers and clients of PricewaterhouseCoopers from around the globe were invited to take the survey. Results are based on responses from 7,276 security and information technology professionals from more than 100 countries. Thirty-two percent of respondents were from North America, followed by Asia (27 percent), Europe (26 percent), South America (14 percent) and the Middle East and South Africa (2 percent). The margin of error for this survey is +/- 1 percent.
