Adaptec unveiled a vision for developing better methods for routing, optimizing and protecting data as it moves through the I/O path. Called the Adaptec Data Conditioning Platform strategy, this I/O management approach will result in solutions that will enable the growing market of public and private cloud datacenters to lower costs, maximize system performance and achieve Green IT objectives without requiring changes, claimed the company.

"As scalable, cloud computing datacenters become the norm in providing IT services to businesses around the world, they will face customer pressure to increase performance, improve operational efficiencies, and be greener," said S. Sundaresh, President and CEO, Adaptec. "We believe that by leveraging Adaptec's core competencies and our ability to optimize data in the I/O path, we can provide solutions that address these needs," he added.

To support the new strategy, Adaptec announced its newest product family under the Data Conditioning Platform banner. The Adaptec MaxIQTM SSD Cache Performance Solution is a solution for building and managing High-Performance Hybrid Arrays (HPHAs) that combine SSDs and HDDs to achieve I/O performance up to five times faster, claimed the company.

By integrating additional capabilities in the I/O data path, Adaptec will continue to provide cloud computing and enterprise datacenter environments with products that can reduce capital and operating expenditures, according to the company.

The company added, that the Data Conditioning Platform can help datacenter managers achieve Green objectives by minimizing servers and storage devices required, and reducing system power and cooling costs.
