To further accelerate international expansion and adoption of enterprise cloud computing, salesforce.com's first international data centre is now live in Singapore.
Salesforce.com has opened its first data centre outside of North America in Singapore. The facility is the SaaS vendor's third besides its two North American centres.
The new hub has been built to extend the capacity, redundancy and scalability of its overall infrastructure. Also constructed is a new operations centre that is designed to monitor the data centres in North America and Singapore round the clock.
"The Asia Pacific is our fastest-growing market, and there has never been a better time for enterprise cloud computing," said Marc Benioff, chairman and CEO, salesforce.com. "Our new Singapore data centre represents continued investment in our global real-time infrastructure to accelerate customer success with cloud computing worldwide." The vendor's Asia Pacific headquarters is also based in Singapore.
Meanwhile, salesforce.com has announced its earnings report for the first quarter of fiscal 2010, where it posted a 36 per cent revenue growth in Asia Pacific compared to the corresponding quarter last year. Its customers in the region include Acer, Crocs, Hang Seng Bank and Ricoh.
