As in most states, when Californians buy something online from a store that is based in California, they have to pay sales tax. AB 178 is back! The language has been inserted into the budget bill in order to claim the $149.5 million in promised revenue. Amazon has responded by stating that it will NOT collect the tax, but instead if the law passes they will terminate their advertising relationships with California web publishers.
