For the first time in a presidential press conference, President Obama called on a reporter for a blog to ask a question. After a question from newsroom staple Helen Thomas, Obama called on Sam Stein from the Huffington Post, who asked the President about whether he thought a Truth and Reconciliation Committee to investigate "the misdeeds" of the Bush adminstration, as proposed by Senator Patrick Leahy (D-VT) was a good idea.
Obama danced around the question, saying he hadn't read the report and preferred to look forward rather than back.
An unexciting question, but a big step towards credibility for online only publications and the Huffington Post in particular. See the video of the question and answer below.
