The House of Representatives voted today to push the mandatory digital-television transition date -- currently February 17 -- to June 12, addressing concerns that Americans were not ready for terrestrial broadcast television stations to switch off their analog signals and go all-digital.

Survey company Nielsen estimates that more than 6.5 million households that use analog TV sets to pick up over-the-air broadcasts are not ready for the switchover yet.

President Obama is expected to sign the bill.
