A "nuisance" computer worm that steals passwords for some online computer games has infected some of the non-secure computers on the International Space Station. The worm, W32.Gammima.AG, was brought into orbit by astronauts in July.

Internet security company Symantec says the worm is "easy" to remove and doesn't do much damage. It "steals online gaming information from the compromised computer" and "spreads through local drives and removable storage devices."

ISS computers are not connected directly to the Internet and NASA said the infected machines were used mainly for email composition and store information on nutritional experiments. Command and control machines were not affected.
