Barclays Bank Plc Pakistan has selected Cisco as their preferred technology infrastructure solution provider. To formalize the agreement, a signing ceremony was held at the Barclays Bank Plc Pakistan Head Office in Karachi. The agreement was signed between Mohsin Nathani, managing director and country head Barclays Bank Pakistan and Dr. Amir Matin, general manager, Cisco Systems Pakistan.
Barclays is working with Cisco Pakistan to deploy the local infrastructure, security, data center and a range of network requirements for its branch banking and communication network. In addition to the advanced service agreements, Cisco is providing Barclays with hardware that includes routing, switching, data center and security appliances.
Speaking at the occasion, Nathani commented: "Barclays strongly believes in maintaining a customer-centric approach in all business ventures. We aim to create value for customers by offering innovative products and services that actually reinvent the way banking is practiced." He further added: "Our association with Cisco symbolizes Barclays commitment to provide customers in Pakistan with efficient and timely solutions for their banking needs."
Dr. Aamir Matin commented that, "Cisco's expertise as the network architects allows us to service the demanding and growing communication needs of the financial sector. Cisco is working with Barclays to plan and implement cutting edge technology solutions that enable them to be competitive, providing greater benefit to their customers." He further added that, "Cisco Pakistan will be providing a suite of advanced services to Barclays Bank and looks forward to a long term relationship with one of the largest financial institutions in the world."
