Don't get too attached to the Facebook app SocialMe. First removed from Facebook on July 1 for alleged violations of Facebook's privacy policy, Social Hi's SocialMe was reinstated yesterday, only to be pulled again this morning, according to Inside Facebook.
When the app was reinstated yesterday, allfacebook noticed that there were still privacy issues associated with the app, including the ability to spoof identities, letting any user pretend to be any other user when sending messages through the app.
Users are growing more frustrated with the frequent disappearances of popular apps. Based on the uncertain status of many popular apps, it's apparent that Facebook is not only cracking down on privacy issues with third-party apps, but also having trouble managing the sheer number of apps that need to be evaluated and policed.
