globe, this provides a lower cost option."

It is great to see another Broadband Wireless High speed project get funding. It has been a long time with promises from past governements to roll out a high speed internet project for Ontario citizens.

As with all technology fixed wireless has it's limitations. As most know, if you are located behind a barn or a hill, or too far away from the transmitting wirless tower, you will never get a decent signal if any, to have a reliable broadband wireless internet at your residence.

This is where the 2 way high speed broadband satellite system shines.

The broadband satellite has been around for 9 years, and yes it is more expensive to have service, but if you live in the bush or in the middle of a field you may not be able to get the fixed wireless internet signal from Wi-Max and others.

The cost to put a satellite in orbit 23,000 km and to provide the ground support and end user equipment is more expensive than a fixed wireless roll out, but it works for most applications.
