Yahoo continues to beef up its mobile offerings, today announcing onePlace, a tool for managing content on the go.

one placeThe service is basically a bookmarking tool, but it utilizes what Yahoo is calling “smart bookmarks” to make the organization of content more dynamic. These “smart bookmarks” allow you to save just about anything on the web including sites, images, videos, emails and RSS feeds with a single click of a button. onePlace then recognizes what type of content you are saving and organizes it accordingly.

New bookmarks can be created from both your computer or from right on your phone.

Bookmarks can be grouped together in what are called “collections”. This would be useful if you were doing something like planning a vacation and wanted a place to bookmark only items pertaining to that trip.

Yahoo onePlace also has an interesting feature called “Pulse”. Pulse will look at all of the content you’ve saved and find the latest updates on it. For example, if you’ve bookmarked a particular sports team, Pulse will update you on the team’s next game or the score of their game. This idea is reminiscent of the news feeds Facebook and now other social sites are using to show user updates as they happen.

Yahoo onePlace is expected to be released in the second quarter of this year alongside Yahoo oneConnect (our coverage). Both expand Yahoo’s Go platform (our coverage).
