Talkshoe launches an easy-to-use iPhone application

Talkshoe, the Internet community calling service, has unveiled a new application built specifically for the Apple iPhone. The app allows users to access current calls and see upcoming ones with a few simple clicks.

The service, accessed at iphone.talkshoe.com, utilizes the iPhone’s ability to recognize phone numbers within webpages and provide one-click access to dial the number without having to type it it. You will however, have to remember a call’s 5-digit ID to access the conversation once the number is dialed as well as a PIN number if you have one.

Testing it out, the service worked very well. I was able to join an in-progress call in under a minute. There is no need to sign-in to Talkshoe if you simply want to access the call as a guest.

The service also promises this application will make it simple to record podcasts right from your iPhone. More information about that is available on their blog.

Talkshoe says it hosted over 47,000 community calls last year, connecting 259,000 people and had over 7.5 million downloads. Previously, you could either utilize the site’s downloadable web application to connect or call in manually on a phone or VoIP application such as Skype.
