This is a moot prediction now. Has just been confirmed by Wall Street that the spin off will occur.

David, we need to rework

David, we need to rework this so that it is not a direct lift from the Apple press release. You can take a stab at it, or I can rework from scratch. Obviously if I do it, it wouldn't justify the 25k reward.

If this had been made into a prediction, judgment would have been a FAVORABLE one. The Copyright Royalty Board decided to leave rate unchanged.

@TIS, is there a bug here? I posted the suggestion but it never made it to the "See All Suggestion" list. A later suggestion made did. This is odd! Also, I don't see the Vote options (Thumbs Up and Thumbs Down).

I dont understand about the Lending for home ownership losses. Why did WAMU employees not have to go over the paperwork on each and every loan for a home to be purchased with WAMU money. If you are loaning a person thousands of dollars (especially ) being a Bank loaning out your company money I would think you should go over each and every document to ensure no fraudulent charges to the person borrowing. Wamu has lost lots of money due to fraudulent contracts for buying homes. should let the people have their homes back, go over each contract, drop the fraud charges to the home owner and allow them to pay off the original cost of the home to the Bank on the loans and there is your damn money , not to mention arrest the fraudulent people for fraud, ( is that not the law anyway) then all the innocent children will not be living on the streets.

Whilst I do share some of

Whilst I do share some of the annoyances with the way the English language has been lazily treated I also have to say that the headline does actually pose a question by virtue of the '?' at the end. I consider that I am a pretty good British patriot and personally have no issue with 'statements' being turned into questions with the simple use of a question mark. Quibbling about such things would be like someone pointing out that one of the posts, starting this argument, used the value "32Gb" - we all know that you meant 32GB but that subtle slip means nigh on an order of magnitude if we want to be picky.

With that out of the way lets actually get down to the original 'question'....

Will Apple release the 32GB version before January 2009? Well I certainly hope so... I personally would if it was my call and viable. If at all financially viable they will launch in time for the Christmas shopping period - hence November 08 sometime.

Everyone knows that Apple continually push the envelope on what is technically and commercially viable... they strive to give user the best value they can within their commercial model. My suspicion is that they will drop the price points on the current 8 and 16GB models in October sometime to dry up stocks of the 8GB device particularly. This would pave the way for the 16GB unit to fill the 8GB slot and the 32GB to come in at flagship level. I also suspect they will keep the Touch one step ahead with a 64GB version. However, this is all based on the price point they have been able to acquire on the NAND memory and in no small part on whether I've understood various reports that the 32GB chips available can directly replace the current 8/16 versions - therefore requiring no real re-engineering.

That's my two-penneth anyway.

Oh and to the poster named 'haha'... I don't quite know why a moderator (if this site has those) hasn't vetted out your post. You do nobody any credit with comments like that, least not yourself!

That's really no surprise. Richard Flamm, the VP in Legal does not understand patent prosecution nor technology. He is an average former local litigator who got up in the ranks by schmoozing.

The Pandora DB will allow ADHD listeners to request i.e. 'dirty bass' and 'nasty funk' in the Search Engine. Great news, Firefox seems to be the best partner. Freeworks vs. the corporate Big Brother.
