Judge Calls Microsoft Meeting for Sept. 21

Showing a desire to speed up the litigation process in the U.S. government's landmark antitrust suit against Microsoft, the District Court judge who was recently selected for the case ordered that all parties involved appear for a status conference on Friday, Sept. 21.

The order by Judge Colleen Kollar-Kotelly came just an hour after the U.S. Department of Justice filed a motion with the court requesting an expedited hearing, due to "strong public interest" in the case and a need for a "prompt and orderly resolution."

The status conference was set for 9:30 a.m. EDT at the U.S. District Court for the District of Columbia, Courtroom 11.

The order was Kollar-Kotelly's first action since she was selected for the case by lottery last Friday.
