Done deal. Mapquest maintained lead until around April 10-11. Judgment is due.

Comscore also reports

Comscore also reports higher traffic for Google Maps than Mapquest. We'll still use Hitwise. Though Hitwise may not report on a monthly basis, when it does report it'll show monthly results.

@Yi-Wyn, Hitwise is known to

@Yi-Wyn, Hitwise is known to not report the same metrics on a monthly basis. What happens if no similar metric is made after bet closes? Will there be an alternate used? According to Compete.com, Google Maps has already passed Mapquest in unique visitors/month as well as visitors/month metrics.

Google Maps passes MapQuest in traffic by end of March?

Google Maps is closing in on MapQuest. According to Hitwise, Google Maps nearly caught up to MapQuest in late December in terms of U.S. traffic.

As of Feb. 7, 2009, Mapquest, with a 39.5% share, held a 3.8% lead over the Google up-and-comer.

Prediction: Google Maps overtakes MapQuest in terms of U.S. traffic by March 31, 2009. Search marketing firm Hitwise will be used to judge this prediction.
