Nothing against Gates, but I hope he does not become the CTO. How about a more corporate neutral person to take that role. We don't need an Executive Branch sanctioned lobbyist in that role.

Get someone in there who will make the government information more accessible and digital. Not that it isn't digital today, but keep going in that direction and push it further. Not only that, but make it a two way street where they share information with us and we can send them information in online polls, etc. The government needs to have a better "finger" on America's pulse, like near real-time online polls...

After Google's CEO Eric Schmidt publicly declared that he would turn down any offer to be the US's first Chief Technology Officer (which The Standard's community correctly forecast), speculation has heated up around the next obvious choice.

He also is easily considered to be one of the greatest technology leaders in generations.
