Apple releases patches for iPhone, iTunes, QuickTime

In a span of four days, Apple released major patches for the iPhone and two of their most popular softwares- iTunes and their media player, QuickTime. The iPhone patches were released on Saturday while the QuickTime ones were released on Thursday.

According to Apple, the iPhone updates will improve battery life, cut down on the time it takes to synchronize with a computer and also reduce the number of dropped calls. It will also show a more accurate representation of the 3G network strength, meaning more bars on the screen. Instances of the phone crashing and e-mail reliability have also been looked into.

The Internet has shown up good responses to the new patches as compared to the August patches that generally received negative opinions.

The Thursday patches fixed playability issues with QuickTime and security issues with both the media player and iTunes.
