Twenty-eight-year-old "Spam King" Robert Soloway was sentenced today to 47 months in prison and a $700,004 restitution payment for profits that he made as a spammer by U.S. District Court Judge Marsha Pechman, according to Seattle's KOMO News.

Soloway was charged under the CAN-SPAM Act, which allows judges to impose a maximum sentence of five years. Soloway was alleged to have continued sending emails even after Microsoft and an Oklahoma ISP won judgments against him todally $17 million for sending millions of spam emails by using malware to send the emails from compromised home PCs.
