I am in Delaware. The hone itself is working and even downloading apps. But every attempt to connect in iTunes fails,

My iPhone 3G lit up on its

My iPhone 3G lit up on its own about an hour ago but it still won't sync with iTunes. Anyone know any tricks? If others are accessing via iTunes I wonder if there is something I should be doing on my end. I get a timeout error that suggests I am just not connected, although the rest of the iTunes store works fine.

It is amusing to note in passing that when I tried to post this here, something in The Standard's Web site threw a Java exception. (-:

Finally worked for me at

Finally worked for me at around 3PM Eastern, though I still had a few of the usual "can't connect" errors after I started to see posts here saying that things were working, so presumably there's still some load-related issue.

I didn't have to unplug and replug the phone to get it to go -- I'd click on something else (the "normal" iTunes Store link on the left-hand side), then click on the iPhone again, and iTunes would immediately start trying once more.

When things weren't working, tcpdump said that it'd get about 9700 bytes into some https transaction, then pause for a long time without passing any data or retransmitting anything -- or, at least, any https, I was just sniffing port 443 -- then get a TCP RST segment outta the blue.

Oh, the humanity!
