I'm a huge Highlander fan! So much so that in private I dress in Duncan McCloud garb and cut the heads off of manikins in my gymnasium once in a while. But yesterday I decided to celebrate the demise of Fake Steve Jobs by regaling the Microsoft faithful with the full splendor of my outfit! They loved it!

There can be only ONE!

I admit that FSJ was as worthy a foe as there is in the Fake-Blogsphere, but his prowess obviously fell far below my talents. He (Dan Lie-ons) was smart to get out while he could! He was simply beginning to stink up the entire Internet with his hack style and utterly unimaginative prose!

There can be only ONE!

Believe it or not, I am only getting warmed up!
All serious competition has been eliminated and FSB reigns!

There can be, and is, only ONE!
The adventure is only beginning people!

Fake Steve Jobs signs off, Real Dan Lyons logs in

Fake Steve Jobs has blogged for the last time. Dan Lyons, former Senior Editor at Forbes, has hung up his Fake Steve blogging reins. One of the reasons: Concern for the real Steve Jobs's health. "After seeing how he looked at WWDC," Lyons didn't want to get stuck blogging during a possible cancer relapse, or any other health issue, Lyons tells The Standard. Jobs was diagnosed with pancreatic cancer several years ago, but was given a clean bill of health after treatment.

Lyons will be taking most of the summer off to spend time with his family, including his young twins, and will start work at Newsweek around Labor Day. He told me that Newsweek was initially very excited about Fake Steve Jobs coming to the newsweek.com site, and were disappointed to hear that he had decided to shut down FSJ -- but are still supportive of his decision.

The Fake Steve blog will remain up for posterity, and Lyons is selling a "greatest hits" book compilation of the best posts from FSJ over the years. Dan will continue blogging at his site, Real Dan Lyons, and will, of course, write for Newsweek.

More news, commentary, and predictions from The Industry Standard:

Prediction: 3G iPhone jailbroken within a week

Analysis: Independent gaming could flourish on the iPhone
