Lyons/Fake Steve Jobs leaves Forbes for Newsweek

I thought there was a particularly strange blog entry this morning on Fake Steve Jobs, but there's a reason for it: FSJ author and Forbes editor Dan Lyons is jumping ship for Newsweek, reports the New York Post.

Newsweek Editor Jon Meacham was quoted as saying this about Lyons:

"We're hoping he'll develop some new blogs, maybe new sites. He's clearly shown an amazing kind of creativity ... It's part of a broader strategy of hiring a voice that [one] can't get anywhere else."

The Fake Steve post mentions "guest bloggers" over the summer, but it's uncertain where the new FSJ blog will live. The Standard is trying to get in touch with Lyons to get more details.

The New York Post article also notes a "mini-stampede for the exits" at Forbes. In recent months, editors have left for CNBC, the Wall Street Journal, Matrix Partners, and other companies.

More news, commentary, and predictions from The Industry Standard:

Special Feature: Where are they now? The Industry Standard tracks down 10 dot-coms from the Web bubble of the late 1990s

Special Feature: The Industry Standard's Top 25 B-to-Z List Blogs

Special Feature: 10 'Net services that will succeed (and 10 that will probably fail)
