For Doug Barry, game shows run in the family. The CEO of Popjax is the son of Jack Barry, the host of the television game show “The Jokers Wild.” Now Doug Barry is creating an Internet quiz game built around online video.

San Francisco-based Popjax has just raised $4.7 million from Draper Fisher Jurvetson, Shasta Ventures and Selby Venture Partners, VentureWire reported.

Popjax the game is based on videos where user can pick a category. They are then served questions alongside music videos. They can earn points and prizes by guessing the answers.

The site launched two weeks ago and is available on Facebook. The team has 15 people. This kind of casual game is more likely to attract women, according to a survey released Thursday. The Solutions Research Group said its survey of women’s digital lifestyles showed that they are ahead of men in activities including watching streaming video on network TV web sites, using DVRs frequently, and playing casual games.
