Breaking news in the WSJ that Yahoo is talking to Time Warner. "The scenario under discussion would involve folding AOL into Yahoo with Time Warner taking a sizable minority stake in the combined entity, say the people familiar with the matter."

Yahoo

Yahoo Continued...............................................

More: Metadata Manipulation and slotting fees have allowed any company to to put themself in front of the real company, look like the real company, scam users, and create a source for fraudulent companies to take extreme advantage of non-savy consumers. Thereby creating a "SALESENGINE".

Type in "Microsoft" in Yahoo's search: Here is what you get.

Also try:microsoft office,microsoft word,microsoft updates,More...

THE LESSON: REMEBER WHEN MCDONALDS WAS SELLING COFFE FOR .50 A CUP. THEY OWNED IT RIGHT? UNTIL SHULTZ LOOKED AT COFFEE DIFFERENTLY AND NOW IT COSTS 4-5 DOLLARS A CUP, AND PEOPLE CANNOT GET ENOUGH OF IT. STARBUCKS OVER 5K LOCATIONS. TELL ME WHAT STARBUCKS NEEDS TO DO OR WHERE THE OPPORTUNITIES LIE. ALL THE SAME.

So the real question is how can Yahoo make a reinvigorating move. I am passionate about Yahoo since it represents an Internet dinosaur that is about to die unless the meteor is set off course.

Yahoo should remain

Yahoo should remain autonymous. To be worth 48 Billion (accurate or not its strong) They could use 25% of their buying power to aggregate next generation companies. They really have not bought anyone meaningful in a while. Yahoo has looked and felt the same since I can remember. I can remebr when Yahoo used Inktomi as search. Actually I am quite surprised of the 48B number. The search is so outdated that its embarrassing. They could give guys like me 50M and put them back in the seach business, the very foundation that allowed them to exisit. You cannot forgoe the foundation from which you came from.

I have more, but won't give alway all my ideas. DON'T SELL. Forget what they know. Rethink! Reform. and sell it for 100B. All of which could happen in 14 months. I have the plan, Yahoo, if you are interested.

Even News Corp and Yahoo! are describing an alternative bid as 'a long shot'

Alternative bid for Yahoo

UPDATE: This did not occur in the time alloted, which the community correctly predicted. Expect to see more relevant predictions based on the fate of Yahoo soon. --The Industry Standard

There will be an alternative bid for Yahoo. This does not mean Microsoft won't win, nor that Yahoo! will accept, but that a company other than Microsoft will put forth an official offer as well.
